This language uses a kid-friendly graphical user interface and does not require any typing skills. The courses will introduce key concepts to coding and teach kids how to code by having the kids code a variety of projects, including games! No prior coding experience required.

Lessons are held on Sundays at 2 PM EST (UTC-5) and run for about an hour.

Introductory Python

This course is a perfect introduction to real-world programming with Python, a powerful and widely used language in everything from web development to data science. Students will learn to write and type out code using Codecademy (https://www.codecademy.com/learn), covering essential concepts like variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and more. With hands-on exercises and interactive lessons, students will build logical thinking and problem-solving skills as they create real text-based programs. Basic typing ability is recommended, as this course involves writing code rather than using visual blocks. No prior coding experience is required.

Lessons are held on Sundays at 3:30 PM EST (UTC-5) and run for about an hour.

Intermediate Scratch

In this intermediate Scratch class, students will deepen their understanding of coding through more advanced projects and creative challenges. Building on the basics, kids will explore and develop stronger understanding of concepts like variables, functions, events, loops, and conditional logic. They’ll create interactive games, animations, and story-based projects that push their imagination and problem-solving skills. They will also dive a bit into Machine Learning which is the basis for creating AI!
